The Preliminary task was by far the most challenging so far though i have had my ups and down in the experience but i have come out the other side more prepared and more realistic about the problems that i might later on face in my main task. The first attempt on our preliminary failed and we had to re-film which took away valuable time. The roles within the group were very fixed and everyone was positioned in a ordinary fashion. Daniel and I filmed the preliminary with Dee acting in it. iI also checked that continuity was not a problem in our filming. I looked at the film from a viewer's point of view and checked what we did wrong and what we need to control. I also made sure that the setting was as perfect as it could get. Dean and Tyler helped us a bit with the filming and in return we helped them with theirs as well.
I changed the convention by making the post production sounds humorous and I enjoyed using Premier Pro and Logic Pro to do this. However on a more negative note our work was analysed by Mr Foley and he made us realise what we had done wrong and what went right. This gave me more idea as to how I could turn around the negative stuff into positive in our final project. Firstly the shots where good but not fluent throughout and filming was a bit tiring and even made us timid sometimes because we were making sure that continuity would go right for us. The sequence and transaction of shots were not followed trough continuously, this is due to when the first character was introduced, in the shot after he came off the stairs the loop wasn't right. this is due to my inexperience with premier pro. I need to make sure to not repeat the same mistake in the final project as this would affect our final grade. the shot when the first character sat down in his chair to look at the papers was very boring when we watched it back again. The last thing we want is to make the audience bored of our project. We didn't realise it in the filming process but now that we know what we did wrong, we must make sure not to repeat that same mistake in our final project. The sound that I added didn't go right with the product. This was done on purpose as I wanted to make the concept seemed predictable and I wanted to surprise the audience by giving the what they weren't expecting. I made a mistake by not following The 180 degree rule correctly. I broke the rule and this exemplifies how inexperienced I am with media which means that I have to learn more about the 180 degree rule concerning any future filming. I have received both positive and negative comments and I still want to hear what you think about my preliminary so feel free to add any comments. thank you... :)
I agree with all of the targets that you have given youself to improve or develop. Do you think that some of your shots in the preliminary filming were too repetitive?
ReplyDeleteHow will you avoid this happening for the final production piece?
I would make sure to use as many possible camera angle shots as possible. I have watched films to compare my production with and I learnt that, I would have to cut some shots quick to get the audience interested.
